Doepfer A-111-6 (complete Synth-Voice), Joystick II (X/Y/Z) and further modules in 2020

Doepfer launches a complete synthesizer-voice-in-a-box module. The A-111-6 houses a classic VCO-VCF-VCA signal path and comes with its own envelope. This complete synth voice is only 10TE / HP wide – typical for the new Doepfer slim design.

4 aspects of the synth voice are noteworthy. First, the slim, yet comprehensive VCO (sawtooth / triangle / pulse with PWM), second, Balance (mix of VCO / Audio IN) with CV-input, third, the VCF with resonance up to self-oscillation (VCF usable as a sine oscillator), and fourth, the possibility of voltage control of individual envelope parameters.

Also remarkable: The price. The module costs approx. 180 Euros (silver version) / approx. 190 Euros (black version). Not bad for a complete synth voice.

A-174-4 is a three-dimensional joy stick module. One of the exciting things about this is the fact that – in addition to the X / Y / Z outputs – the individual quadrants Q1 / Q2 / Q3 / Q4 are also available. The module will be released in spring 2020.

Finally, a few modules for special applications. A-130-8 is an 8-channel VCA / mixer, A-133-2 is a dual voltage controlled VCA with special possibilities and A-183-4 is a level shifter / trigger buffer (for adjusting / raising CV / trigger signals). These modules will also be available in spring 2020.

All diesen (alten wie neuen) “großartigen” Instrumenten ist Great Synthesizers gewidmet. _________________________________________________________ In 2005 composer Arvo Pärt said: “Playing one tone really well is enough”. In other words, it is sufficient to play one tone 'beautifully'. I agree with that. All musical efforts are focused on the sound itself. Although I studied classical music (piano and drums), it’s the electronic sound that inspires me. Synthesizers are the epitome of new sounds and exciting tonal spheres. Today, many companies produce high-quality - excellent! - synthesizers: Doepfer, Cwejman, MacBeth, Moog, GRP, Synthesizers.com, COTK, Studio Electronics, John Bowen and others. It's their products I'm really interested in ... apart from Vintage Synthesizers, which I have been collecting for 20 years. Subsequent to our former websites Bluesynths and Blogasys, Peter Mahr and I have now created GreatSynthesizers. We hope you like it.
