Roland Jupiter-80 V2 – new Low Pass Filters

Roland Jupiter-80 V2 - three new Low Pass Filters

Roland Jupiter-80 V2 - three new Low Pass Filters

Version 2 adds three more Low Pass Filters to Roland’s Jupiter-80. The internal EFXs are no longer limited to parallel routing, as Version 2 additionaly brings serial routing.

We recorded four audiofiles to compare the different Low Pass Filters. The settings are moderate and with the exception of the filter mode all parameters are the same in all four audiodemos. No EFX used.

We would like to thank Michael Menze of Rolandmusik.de for providing V2!

Musikmesse Frankfurt 2012 – Waldorf

Waldorf Zarenbourg

Waldorf Zarenbourg, Pulse 2, lector, PPG und largo

The Waldorf Zarenbourg  builds the perfect support for the Pulse 2. As you can see from our photo, the Pulse 2 was not connected and therefore we cannot say anything about its sound. But we can say this – watch this space ;-)!

But we had the chance to listen to the now available Zarenbourg. As it seems to get common now, the Zarenbourg also makes use of a combination of Sampling and Physical Modelling. However, what we heard was promising. A comparison between the Zarenbourg and the Yamaha CP1 is nearly as obvious as the one between Pulse and Pulse 2. Scheduled delivery date for the Pulse 2 is summer 2012.

SEM Pro – excellent sound, MIDI and patchpanel

Well, this is indeed the most desirable new SEM module. Simply because it offers the combination of MIDI and CV control options. The finish is great, too. We find it particularly good that the patch panel is screwed to the chassis. It feels very (!) stable.

Waldorf Pulse-2 Analog Synthesizer

Waldorf-Pulse2-02

ANALOG is BACK!
First we would like to thank Mr. Musialik for sending us this information!

Isn’t it a good sign that the number of currently launched analog synthesizers is growing and growing? Yesterday French company Arturia surprised us by going the opposite way – starting with Virtual Analog Modelling synthesizers and now releasing their first analog synthesizer the MiniBrute. And here ist another one, and it is coming from German company Waldorfmusic, their analog Pulse 2!
